What is the difference?

Where caffe latte was invented in America, the cappuccino is from Milan.

Caffe latte can contain any coffee - and even tea or cocoa. It is made from 1/3 coffee with 2/3 steamed milk, topped with a little milk froth. Cappuccino on the other hand is specifically made from an espresso shot with steamed milk and 2 cm of foam on top.

Different types of cappuccino

There are three different cappuccinos you can try to make if you are not completely satisfied with the traditional method:

A wet cappuccino means a little more milk has been added to the espresso and a little less milk froth on top.
A dry cappuccino has the same amount of espresso as a regular cappuccino, but with much less steamed milk - if anything at all.
Flavored cappuccinos are traditional cappuccinos added to flavor syrup, which you can try making, with one of our Monin syrups. You can also try flavoring your cappuccino by sprinkling a little cocoa, cinnamon or sugar on the milk froth.

6 surprising ways to drink caffe latte

When life seems a little sad and gray, there are some great ways to make your caffe latte a little more colorful:

Sprinkle a little cardamom, salt or cinnamon on top.
If you're part of the paleo group, then you know you can add a little butter and call it a bulletproof coffee.
By adding a little whiskey and making an Irish coffee, your day can end in the best way.
With a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of your coffee, you can turn it into a kind of dessert drink.
Vanilla or almond extract is a delicious way to add a little edge to the flavor.
If you want to make your morning coffee a little more exotic, you can try replacing cow's milk with coconut milk.

The Norwegian way

Have you ever heard of mixing a whole egg with your coffee powder? The Norwegians do this to make the coffee clearer, which leaves the coffee in an absolutely perfect color without sediments. First you boil 10 cups of water - so it should probably be tried when you have guests. Next, mix half a cup of medium to coarse coffee powder with an egg and half a cup of boiling water. Add this to the remaining water and let it boil for 3 minutes. Finally, add a cup of cold water to the coffee mixture. Then it just needs to be sifted into a coffee pot and voila!
