What is descaling?
Descaling is a process that removes hard deposits that originate from lime in the water. Certain parts of the world have more lime in the water than others, which affects how much lime is deposited in your Nespresso® coffee machine.
Do not forget to descale
Depending on where you live, as well as the quality and lime content of your water, it is extremely important to descale your Nespresso® machine, as this is absolutely crucial for the result of the coffee brewing. The parts of the Nespresso® machine that carry hot water are exposed to limescale, and the areas of the machine where the water occasionally stands still will be hardest hit by descaling.
How often you use the machine and which coffee you brew has an effect on how often you need to descale. If you primarily brew ristrettos instead of cappuccino, you do not need to descale your Nespresso® coffee machine as often.
What happens if you do not descale?
Descaling is one of those tasks that can easily be forgotten, but don't worry, your Nespresso® machine will remind you of that. Failure to descale will mean that the machine will not be able to reach its optimal brewing temperature, which not only affects the taste of the coffee due to poor extraction, but will also mean that you will not be able to enjoy a completely hot cup of coffee.
The life of the Nespresso® machine is shortened if it does not descale because it has to work harder, and the longer you delay the descaling, the more noise the machine will make.
In the end, you run the risk of your Nespresso® coffee capsule machine breaking.

Benefits of using a water filter jug
Water that tastes and smells better helps you drink more water, which is one of the great benefits of a water filtration jug.
It is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than buying bottled water.
More importantly, the removal of chlorine, fluorine and heavy metals from the water, benefits your health.
